How to do well in interview?

How to do well in interview? Before you enter the premises of interviewing company, make sure you have answers to the following questions.

  • Please tell me about yourself.
  • Where do you see yourself five years down the line.
  • What are your compensation expectations.
  • Why you left your last job (if your were previously employed).
  • Why do you want to join this company.

During all these questions, make sure that you do not look like telling what’s all in your resume. The resume is already with the interviewer, tell something that is not on the resume. Keep the conversation short and up-to-the-point, do not boast about your accomplishments. Never criticize your past company, colleague, appraisal, or working environment.

If you have achieved something in your last job, take the credit by saying that it was a team job. Do not give the reason of low pay or untimely salary as you are suggesting that you will even leave this company if you find the salary less at a later date. Never say the name of an organizational position when asked where you see yourself two or five years down the line. You may say, “Exploring my hidden talents to the best of my organization and helping my colleagues to work for the benefit of organization.”

While waiting for the job interview, do not be anxious. Think what the employer is expecting to hear from you, be polite and calm and then answer. Do not show feelings of racial discrimination or jealousy during the interview meet. If you do not know answer to questions asked from you, be clear to admit that you are unaware rather than giving a wrong answer and justifying it.
